This picture is amazing! Last week the pilot of this CF-18 hit the eject button just a few feet before his jet crashed and exploded into the ground. Thankfully it sounds like he is going to be alright. But had the pilot waited just a split second longer to hit eject, he probably wouldn’t be alive today.

Today I wanted to hit “eject” after a machine at work ate and destroyed a clients document. Luckily I was able to pull up their document online and reprint it for them. They were very understanding, but it could have been a lot worse had the client not been friendly and understanding.

28 years ago today, at the age of 28, Keith Green died. I am almost a third of the way through the 512 pages of No Compromise: The Life Story of Keith Green. So far I am enjoying it. RIP Keith.

I love country drives by myself, it’s one of my favorite things to do. It’s also one of the things I miss most about living in Washington, driving to Mt. Rainier. It took about an hour from point A (home) to point B (park entrance) on the map above, but that hour was probably the most peaceful and relaxing of all my hours in the week.

Sometimes the sunroof would be open and the windows would be down. Other times they would be closed and up with the heater on high. Sometimes while I passed the many rivers, lakes, and trees (like below), I’d have my music blasting loud. Other times I would be in silence, listening to God.

Some of my best conversations, thanks, pleas, and arguments with God were on my drives to Mt. Rainier and back. Sometimes sitting on a dock, on a lake, with fresh air, no cell phone service, and no one around for miles is what I needed. It gave me clarity and peace.

The longer drive between Washington and California on I5 is also one of my favorites. Some may think 12 hours in the car by yourself is boring and maybe even crazy, but not me. Passing each rest stop, truck stop, drive-thru, or hotel reminds me of a memory I had there. Dirty toilets, hot chocolate, bad food, and hard pillows have all been apart of my story but I wouldn’t take any of them back.

Sometimes in Santa Rosa I drive out to my grandpas old ranch. Houses are now built up around it and development is happening all around, but it still reminds me of driving out that two-lane country road to ride on my grandpas tractor when I was a kid, and I like that.

I am tired of hearing all the drama about the new iPhone 4 and the death grip. It is all made up by Verizon, Droid, Google, Bill Gates, and anyone else who’s paying the media to talk it up. Isn’t it funny how a very, very small group of people who complain are heard 100 times louder than the very large group that are satisfied? It’s kinda like the church. You hear about the idiots who protest and picket funerals and claim that it’s “in God’s name” but you don’t hear about the other 99.99% of churches that are doing good things in their communities. That’s very sad to me.

Some Key iPhone 4 Facts

1. Better Service - Only 69% of smartphone users say they are satisfied with their mobile provider, yet 73% of iPhone users are very satisfied with AT&T’s service.

2. No Antenna Issue - Only 0.55% of iPhone 4 customers have called AppleCare about the antenna issue. That half of one percentage is what all the stupid media attention is about.

3. Droid Does It Too – Watch the video below. The Motorola Droid X does the same thing when given the “death grip” as the iPhone 4.

4. Above and Beyond – Apple has gone above and beyond what any other phone manufacturer would do by giving away free cases. Some claim that a case will cancel out the death grip. So Apple says, we want everyone to be happy and even though only 0.55% of you are having issues we will still give everyone a free case. Just another reason why Apple wins with not only the best products, but the best customer service and support.

If you use another phone and love it, that’s great. Don’t join the bandwagon and talk crap about Apple or the iPhone until you try it. I am done with the Apple talk…for now.

Five things made me laugh today.

1. The Fugees – “Killing Me Softly” came on the radio today at work and it made me laugh. Maybe more of a chuckle.

2. Drive-Thru Lady – The McDonald’s drive-thru lady said, “hi sweetie” and “have a great day hun” to me when she handed me my unhealthy bag of food and my coke that was filled just right. This happened in California, not the South…so I laughed.

3. Car Pool Lady – I saw a lady driving in her Mercedes, while on the phone that was not hands free, while in the carpool lane during carpool hours but in the car alone. Three strikes made me laugh at her.

4. Hippies – Don’t hippies make everyone laugh? Enough said.

5. Angry Women - This one was really funny. So funny that I laughed for a while. A very angry woman chewed me out at work today in front of her obviously embarrassed husband who kept trying to make nice comments to me over his wives rude ones. I smiled and took it and then burst into laughter when she stormed out of the store and yelled things at me as she was stomping off to her luxury car. Proof that money buys happiness!

Angry people make me laugh the most. Why? It’s hilarious to see someone get so worked up over something so small that it gets them huffing and puffing so much that it makes them look like a stupid dummy. I am not saying it hasn’t happened to me before, but you can generally tell when everything gets to someone versus just the occasional thing.
